"Don't
settle for merely living with diabetes; rather walk with me and take
the steps to reclaim your life and LIVE it to the FULL !"
Learning
how to deal with diabetes can be overwhelming, frustrating, and discouraging.
It is a progressive disease, and if you don't actively take hold of it, it will
take hold of you. The long-term complications of poorly controlled diabetes are devastating and can include blindness, kidney
failure, heart attacks, strokes and amputation of limbs.
As a Doctor of Pharmacy and Board Certified Diabetes Educator
with years of experience and several thousand patient encounters in diabetes education and management, I too understand the
frustration and discouragement when patients' blood sugar control does not seem to improve in a long term and meaningful way
despite great efforts on the part of the patient, physician, and educator. WHY is this?
There are three basic reasons:
- Typically, we remember only 20% of what we're taught.
- Diabetes is very demanding, and people tend to lose
motivation quickly.
- Diabetes is a SELF-managed condition. Therefore,
even if you see your doctor and diabetes educator several times a year, the daily burden of managing the condition still rests
on your shoulders, every minute of every day, 365 days a year.
Here's how I can help.
- My teaching method is fun, easy, and helps you to
remember MUCH more of the information that you need to know.
- Regular encouragement and assistance keeps you motivated
as you progress towards your goals.
- My coaching style addresses the common problems
and empowers clients to confidently pursue the Healthy, Fulfilling, and Fun lives they were meant to have. Don't settle for
simply "living with diabetes" - Rather walk with me and take the steps to reclaim your life and
L I V E it to the Full!
